The Effective Care Research Centre (ECReC) was established to advance high-quality research and training in evidence-based medicine, focusing on randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses that address pressing women's health needs in Nigeria and other low-income countries.

The Centre's vision is to make a significant contribution to local and international health needs through excellence in research and best practices in health care. Its mission is to promote best practices and affordable care appropriate to the needs of local communities through primary clinical research, systematic reviews, and research training.

Our work spans feto-maternal medicine, infectious diseases in pregnancy, reproductive health, diagnostics, community health, non-communicable diseases, and neglected tropical diseases — all united by the commitment to translate rigorous evidence into real-world impact.
